WAURIKA —
Viola Mae Morgan Roebuck
April 28, 1927 — June 21, 2011
Viola Mae Morgan Roebuck was born April 28, 1927 east of Waurika to George and Myrtie Morgan. She passed from this life Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at her home in Waurika at the age of 84. Funeral Service was held Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Waurika Church of Christ with Dr. Bob Harrison and Noel Curington officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
She continued to live with her family and did all her schooling in Waurika. In July of 1941 she was baptized at the Waurika Church of Christ where she was an active member for 70 years. For over 30 years she assisted her church family by helping at the benevolence center and serving meals at funerals. Her faith always meant so much to her and she loved to share that. One of her greatest desires was that all of her family be in the church.
On Dec. 20, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arville Roebuck. They lived in Kansas for three and one-half years, then moved back to Jefferson County in 1950. They lived almost 30 years on the family farm. They moved into Waurika in August 1981.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Jones and husband Melvin and Barbara Dennard and her son, Don Roebuck and wife Lisa, all of Duncan; four grandchildren, Tim, Lisa, Kristi and Logan; four great-grandchildren, Daimen, Tiffany, Kelsi and boyfriend Catlin, and Austin; a niece, Carolyn Beaver and her husband Darrell; and her sweet dog and companion Sparky.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Arville; son, Neil Roebuck; parents; two brothers, Cecil and Preston Morgan; son-in-law Larry Dennard; and a grandson, Thomas Jones.
