Jerry Wayne Busby was born Aug. 19, 1950 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Mary Alice (Cantrell) and Robert Harry Busby, Sr. He passed from this life Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his home in Waurika, at the age of 60. Funeral service was held Monday, June 20, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Rev. Audie Dorrough, Mike Rucker and Robert Jacobson officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
Jerry and Jimmie Sanders were married Sept. 4, 1979 in Hastings. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years, where he helped with teaching Sunday school classes. He was self-employed, owning several business including a mechanic shop, running search and rescue dogs, and most recently Original Fried Pies. He also worked as a security guard at the Family Dollar Warehouse.
He is survived by his wife, Jimmie, of the home in Waurika; children Randi Lynn Berry and husband Josh of Waurika, and Ryan Wayne Busby and wife Michelle of Wichita Falls, Texas; and son Camron Alen Busby and girlfriend Millie Beare of Waurika; siblings Robert H. Busby Jr. and wife Sherry of Waurika; Robert W. Busby and wife Linda of Port Lavaca, Texas; Patsy Nixon and husband Robert Nixon of Austin, Texas; brother-in-law Dutch Elkins of Waurika; and four grandchildren, Chesney Reese Berry, Brody Reed Berry, Cooper Shae Busby and Jordan Chandler Everett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn Ann Elkins.
