Terry Carl Johnson was born June 28, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Arthur Joe “Goob” and Mabel Eileen “Momo” Ferguson Johnson. He passed from this life Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at United Regional Health Care in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 65. Funeral service for Terry was held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Ryan with Debbie Kerr officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan.
Terry graduated from Ryan High School in 1963. While at Ryan High School, he was a member of 4-H and received the honor of all-district defensive back for the Cowboys football team. Terry received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1968. Terry also graduated from Cameron Junior College, where he sang with the Cameron Glee Club at the World Fair in 1965. He served his country in the United States Army from 1968-70.
He and Ramona Joy Nease were married March 2, 1974 in Wynnewood. Terry was a member of the Cotton Electric Board of Directors for over 24 years, also a member of the OSU Alumni Association and the Cattleman’s Association. Terry was a lifetime member of the Ryan United Methodist Church being a third generation member. He also sang in the Methodist Church choir.
He is survived by his wife Ramona of the home in Wichita Falls; mother, Eileen Johnson of Ryan; sister, Linda Trow and husband Tim of Decatur, Texas; daughters, Heidi Townsend and husband J.K. of Ryan and Holly Bernard and husband Brian of Wichita Falls; son, Aaron Johnson and fiancé, Whitney Warren, of Ryan; grandchildren, Rylee and Will Townsend of Ryan and Janson, Maddox and Carlee Bernard of Wichita Falls. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Goob Johnson; uncle Fred Mullendore; aunt Thelma “Chookie” Mullendore; cousins Karen Mullendore and Janet Mullendore Key; and great-nephews Logan Bradley Moody and Linden Bryce Ernhart.
