Harold Laverne “Irishman” Dennard was born March 17, 1928 in Ryan to Jasper and Georgia Dee (Holcomb) Dennard. He passed from this life Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Jefferson County Hospital at the age of 82. Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial was in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
He was named “Irishman” by family friend Grover Roberson when he was 2 years old. Irishman was a farmer and rancher. He and Mary Jo Brezina were united in marriage Oct. 20, 1945 in Duncan. They made their home in Waurika and were members of the First Baptist Church.
Irishman is survived by his wife, Mary Jo of the home; son, Jimmie Harold Dennard and wife, Jeanet, of Comanche; brother, T.H. Dennard and wife, Jewell, of Waurika; sister, Betty Jean Ogle of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren, Mistie Graves and husband, Dale, of Madill, Dustin Dennard and wife, Jenni, of Kilgore, Texas and Colt Dennard and wife, Kris, of Waurika; great grandchildren, Tanner Akers and Caden Graves, Morgan Blake Dennard and Kasen Dennard.
