Doris Bobbie Wagoner was born March 9, 1929 in Sugden to Riley and Dovie Lee Willoughby Day. She passed from this life Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 81. Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, with Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
She worked in the cotton fields in her younger years where her son Roger’s first memories are of being drug around on a cotton sack while his mother picked cotton. She was a beautician. She and John Paul Wagoner were married May 20, 1993 in Muncie, Ind. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2003.
She enjoyed driving a truck for North American Van Lines with her husband. They drove for over 30 years all across the United States except Hawaii and Alaska. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, especially “Rook.”
She is survived by her children, Roger Dale Fowler of Iowa Park, Texas and Charolette Lee Savedra of Whittier, Calif.; brother, William Edward Day of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Jim Recio, Lisa Pharries, Paula Fuqua, Dana Alexander, Bobbie Leigh Smith and Roger Fowler; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Roy, daughter Patricia Gale Bender and grand-daughter Michelle Bender.
