Bessie Jordan was born on Jan. 16, 1928 to George W. and Artie Sanders Mitchell in Union Valley. She passed away on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010 in Irving, Texas at the age of 82. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at Windsor Park Baptist Church in DeSoto, Texas. Burial followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Services were under the direction of Laurel Land Funeral Home, Dallas.
Bessie moved to Dallas in 1952 with her husband, Harold Wright, where they raised their four children. Harold passed away in 1975. She met and married Wayne Jordan in 1980. Wayne passed away in 1997.
Bessie was a true servant of the Lord and a wonderful Christian woman. She loved her Lord, children and family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Artie Sanders Mitchell; three brothers, one sister, her first husband, Harold L. Wright and her second husband, Wayne E. Jordan.
She is survived by her children, Roger Wright of Plano, Texas, Karen Baker and husband Jerome Baker of Hurst, Texas, Kip Wright of Mesquite, Texas, and Retta Feemster and husband Rocky Feemster of Coppell, Texas; and sons of her husband Wayne, David and Eddie Jordon; and 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
