Laura Mary Margaret Henderson

Laura Mary Margaret Henderson was born June 22, 1916 in Gray County, Texas to Walter M. and May N. Felder Roberts. She passed from this life Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 in Waurika at the age of 94. Funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Dr. Veryl F. Henderson and Rev. Jeff McLemore officiating.
She and Lonnie F. Henderson were married in Shamrock, Texas on Jan. 14, 1934 and moved shortly thereafter to western Colorado. They returned toWaurika in 1972. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1995.
She managed two restaurants in western Colorado. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika. She and Lonnie were also foster parents for 85 children over a 12 year period. Both were charter members of Bookcliff Baptist Church of Grand Junction and Central Baptist Church of Clifton, Colo.
She is survived by her children, James E. Henderson and wife Pat of Grand Junction, Colo., Dorthy F. McCarthy and the late Kenton of Waurika, Walter H. Henderson and wife Janice of Grand Junction, Colo., Veryl F. Henderson and wife Cheryl and Darlene M. Kaneshiro and husband Tim, all of Kaneohe, Hawaii; brother, Matthew Lee Roberts of Waurika; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers and sisters.
